Concept Vehicles are really taking such unique and never-before-seen shapes that one is struggling to classify them into any existent set of vehicles. The Audi Quattroflex Concept is being called as a concept car, but it is anything like a car that we have known. For starters, this crazy vehicle for the future roads has no roof on top of it. The vehicle is almost like an open chariot of the future which can be driven using a joystick. It really seems that the difference between the virtual world of gaming consoles and the real world we live in is being blurred at a dazzling pace.

“Gamma” is a pretty cool name to have for a concept car as it plays off of something that is simple, familiar and sounds really trendy. The moment you look at the concept design of Gamma car, you are all the more thrilled and are forced to smile a bit. A design that shows the interiors of the gadget in a classy and tech-savvy fashion was pretty popular for a period of time. I for one am completely in favor of such a design in most of the cases. But when it comes to a car, it may not be the best idea in the world.

Designing a concept car is all about amalgamating style with sense and passion with precision to produce not just the best possible result but also a look and feel that defies convention and revamps tradition. The BMW ZX-6 is a concept car that has all these features and more making it almost unsuitable for the world in its present state. The metallic look, sensationally styled finish and the sheer functionality of the form makes you wonder where tomorrow of the automobile world will take you.
Designed by 3rd year students of Transportation Design School at Turin Based IED, the Zx-6 is billed as the BMW for the year 2015, though it is highly unlikely that it will make it to the roads even then. It is almost destined to fly in the sky with grace and poise. The concept is focused keeping in mind the modern needs, tastes and life style of an individual. All the cars designed in this project looks like toy cars. This might well be a toy if the big boys of the auto world choose to keep their feet more grounded and look around only for conventional designs.

The BMW ZX-6 is all about travelling into a future that hopefully will lead us to brighter and safer roads and maybe even make them obsolete. This Concept Car though pretty much makes the current cars obsolete for now!

It sure ain’t pretty, though beauty, in this case, is likely in the eye of the beholder. A few years back, a new take on the taxi was provided by Standard Taxi, a company based in Troy, Michigan. The design for the purpose-built people hauler uses GM running gear and is able to haul four passengers in relative comfort. We hadn’t heard a peep from the company until today when we learned that Standard is now working on negotiations with AM General to build the vehicle in its plant in Mishawaka, Indiana, where AM General builds the Hummer H2 SUV and SUT. So far, no announcements have been made regarding whether or not the plant would continue working full-time in the face of lagging Hummer sales, though we imagine that plenty of excess capacity is available. According to AM General, the deal would in no way impact the assembly of military Hummer models.
We can’t say whether a production version of the Standard Taxi would feature the pushrod 4.3-liter V6 that the concept had underhood, though there are plenty of options from the GM parts-bin from which to pilfer. A Standard Taxi equipped with GM’s 2-Mode hybrid system could prove to be extremely well-suited for taxi duty in some of the world’s toughest environments.
