It is hard enough to find an electric car that gives satisfactory performance and half-good mileage, but when you find something that looks like an ultra-cool space age sports car and is an all-electric vehicle, you pretty much hit the jackpot. That was the exact same feeling many people experienced when they took the first look at the Venturi Volage as the covers came off. The Volage is truly one spectacular automobile that integrates the future electric technology with a design and bodywork that makes it stand out from the crowd.

The Volage is an all-electric vehicle that is capable of hitting from 0 to 60 in less than 5 seconds. Add to that the fact that the Volage has a top speed of 160 mph and a range of 200 miles on a single charge and you pretty much know that Venturi is giving the Roadster more than just ‘competition’. The Michelin Active Wheel Technology allows the cars wheels to contain the two electric motors that power it on. This pretty much makes the body of the car a lot lighter and efficient.

The light-weight carbon fiber chassis and its aerodynamic body allow it to be further efficient while adding to the style quotient. But the car is not yet going to give anyone at Tesla sleepless nights as it is set for production in 2012. Now that is indeed a very long wait!
